Adam Benzecrit – Founder & Director of sportr.
“We have created a living, breathing example that business can be a success doing things the right way.”
Adam Benzecrit co-founded SportsFix, the first sports news summarisation app while in his final year of studying for a bachelors degree in Geography from University College London (UCL). It was here he developed a friendship with Kit Wallen Russell, co-founder of JooMo, through the tennis club. The app was met with huge critical acclaim, winning numerous accolades, including: 1) Voted Top 10 app out of 425 in pan-European ‘Big App’ competition hosted by Facebook & in partnership with Worth Capital and Seedrs. 2) LSE Entrepreneurs Finals Winner 2014, winning a funding grant. 3) LSE Entrepreneurs of the Year 2015. 4)Tech City News Elevator Pitch Finalist.
He is now director of sportr, a mobile platform which uses the software in SportsFix to automatically aggregate and summarise sports news content for businesses. sportr summarises content from a wide variety of providers including mainstream sites, sport-specific sites, blogs, video and audio.
“JooMo is built on the simple fact that we want to change the world by helping others. By pushing forward with our beliefs, we not only inspire change in the world but we re-invent the face of business where the main aim is helping the community, not solely helping ourselves.”
As part of our vision, at JooMo, we wanted to revolutionise the way business is perceived. By joining the Co-Operatives UK movement, and operating under a co-operative business plan, we laid the foundation. We want to be a business which values the community and people we benefit from, not just purely making money by any means necessary. Being a member of Co-Operatives UK allows us to show our appreciation for our supporters!
